1. Set the Mood

  • Lighting: Dim the lights or turn them off completely and use candles or soft, warm lamps.

  • Scent: Use calming essential oils like lavender, chamomile, or eucalyptus—either in a diffuser or added directly to the bath.

  • Music: Play soft, ambient music or nature sounds. Spotify, YouTube, or meditation apps have great evening playlists.

2. Prepare Your Bath

  • Temperature: Fill the tub with warm water (not too hot to avoid dehydration).

  • Add Soothing Elements:

    • Bath salts (Epsom salt for muscle relaxation)

    • Bubble bath (choose sulfate-free if you have sensitive skin)

    • Essential oils (add a few drops diluted in a carrier oil like coconut or almond oil)

    • Herbs or tea bags (try chamomile, lavender, or rose petals in a muslin bag)

3. Create Comfort Outside the Tub

  • Fluffy towels and robe: Warm them up if possible.

  • Hydration: Keep a glass of cold water or herbal tea nearby.

  • Post-bath skincare: Have body lotion or oil ready to lock in moisture.

4. Be Present

  • Use this time to disconnect:

    • Leave your phone outside the bathroom.

    • Try deep breathing or a short meditation.

    • Focus on the sensation of the water and the scent in the air.

5. Wind Down Afterwards

  • Slip into comfortable pajamas.

  • Keep the lights low and avoid screens.

  • Do a calming activity like reading or journaling.

  • Avoid charging your phone in your room / avoid putting the television on.

  • Perfect time for prayers, meditation and mindfulness.
